Deployment of the AR-based Laboratories Network and performance assessment
Task 3.1 Implementation of the AR-based setup and experiments (Unina/Unical/Unisannio)
Each operating block of Fig. 2 will be finally implemented and integrated to realize measurement setups in the labs of each research unit that will be accessible in the extended environment. Even though interaction among the proponents were required in all the previous tasks to assure successful interoperation of the components of the framework, this final stage of integration of the realized systems will be carried out by all the research units together. Any critical issues that emerge at this stage will be exploited as feedback for partial redefinition/redesign of parts of the overall system.
Task 3.2 Performance assessment of the communication system delay (Unical)
Suitable measurement test bed will be provided to evaluate the communication delay between the sending of a command and the detection of the action, on different workload conditions and commands. In particular, the design of the testbed will take into account each delay cause, its statistical characteristics, and the correlation among them. This information will drive the tuning of the whole system, by implementing suitable strategies to reduce such a delay and the design of the experiment that can be performed.
Task 3.3 Deployment of Lab Network and performance assessment on typical case studies involved in metrology education (Unina/Unical/Unisannio)
Once assessed the operating conditions of the setups and experiments of each Research Unit, the final version of the laboratory network will be deployed. To this aim, typical case studies of measurement fundamentals will be taken into account and made accessible to students not only from the proponents but also from external Universities or High School interested in metrology education. The performance of the proposed project will be assessed by submitting an appropriate questionnaire to students who have conducted experiments in the augmented environment in order to quantify their enjoyment, engagement and the effectiveness of the teaching approach.
